I'm so glad that manga comic books are becoming so popular in the United States. Whereas American comics (the superhero ones) mainly cater to a strictly male audience, Japanese manga caters to both male and female audiences. In fact, some of my favorite manga are shonen (boy's comics), like Eyeshield 21, Bleach, and Naruto. But I really, really like Shojo series too. Skip Beat and Gakuen Alice are the best, but Moe Kare, Nosatsu Junkie, Goong, Chocolat (the Korean one) are awesome too.

I also love Korean dramas (though I haven't watched that many yet). I like "My Girl", "Fullhouse" and "Princess Hours." I tried watching "Hello Baby Hello" but the English subtitles were pretty hard to understand and were poorly done. That series was okay, but not the best.

Nosatsu Junkie, aka Charming Junkie, seems to be really progressing along! Umi has finally made his debut as a new male model (otoko no hito moderu)! I wonder how much longer the series will go on?

Sasuke, huh? Well, I'm a girl, but our personalities are alike. (Though I won't got to the dark side, tee hee, I've seen enough Stars Wars not to make that mistake again. Uh, did I say "again"? I, uh, meant never. *Never* would make that mistake.) ha ha ha~

How'd I get Temari in the "Leaf-Sand Personality test"? Oh well, I guess out of all the girls she's the toughest and most level-headed (besides Ten-ten of course, but we rarely get to see Ten-ten do anything important anyway, the poor girl).

I don't watch Dragon Ball or know anything about it, but this is who I got from the test. Whoever she is....

Chapter 68 Summary/Mini Translation

Sorry its taken me a while. I've been busy in summer school, so I don't think I'll go back and try to translate those chapters I did before and try to make a more detailed summary. I'm having a lot of trouble with the Japanese.

But anyways, I've got my new Hana to Yume today, so I went ahead and did the most recent chapter for y'all. (The magazine was so huge this time it wouldn't fit in my mailbox, so I had to walk 3 miles to the post office to pick it up there and then walk back 3 more miles today. I don't have a car right now, and the buses don't go that way, so yeah, I'm tired. But I did the summary as soon as I got back. So I hope you all enjoy it! It was a pretty good chapter this time!)

You guys know the drill...
I'm still learning Japanese, so this is a summary based on the pictures and my limited Japanese that I've had to look up in the dictionary and try to piece together to have it make sense. So be warned, that the translations are probably not quite right, but at least you'll get the gist of what is going on.

Chapter 68

This time we have a full color double page spread, with Naka, Umi and Yusu on the cover. Naka is wearing a maid's uniform and is sitting on the table with a strawberry cake in one hand and a teapot in the other. She is pouring tea for Umi, who has a fork in his mouth, while Yusu sips from is cup near Naka's feet. The words in English "Let's Join Us" is written at the top above Yusu. (Yusu and Naka also have the same hair color, while Umi's is golden blonde).

The first few pages show Umi getting ready for school, weighing himself on a scale (it seems he's unhappy with his weight, probably because he's not very heavy like a regular boy would be), eating breakfast, getting dressed. He's thinking about Yusu the whole time.

(Remember, he's jealous of Yusu! Naka works with Umi on Junk, but Naka also works with Yusu on Boom clothes. In the Boom shoots, Naka and Yusu are paired up girl-boy, but when Umi does Junk, he still pretends to be a girl. Umi seems to want to have what Yusu has with Naka, and being able to be a "boy-model" when he's around Naka. ~Just a little recap there.)

Anyways, the first thing Umi sees when he arrives at the school gate is Naka yelling at Yusu (who goes to their school now). Umi ducks behind a pole and listens. [I sort of think this means that Yusu doesn't know Umi is a boy? I'm not really sure?] Umi listens for a bit, but then he decides to sneak past them and hide his face with his arm as he enters the gate, irritated. But something Yusu says makes Umi halt surprised.

It's hard to translate what Yusu said, but it was something about positions or rankings. (I take it to mean that they are talking about model rankings, or a contest or something.) Umi comes over and swings his bag up and holds it in front of Yusu's face (maybe so Yusu can't get a good look at Umi?). Umi says, very seriously, something like, "That best rank that everyone wants. I'll take it here." [um, yeah, I *think* that's what he says?] And then Naka drags Umi away yelling at him, until they're a dot in the distance (which is another reason why I think Yusu doesn't know Umi's gender yet). Yusu scratches his head with a question mark.

Umi drags Naka to a classroom and gives her a head noogie, comically angry. Then Umi's phone rings, and he checks the text message.
"Hey," Umi says to Naka. "It's still morning, isn't yet?"
"Heh? Y-yes?" she replies.

"Our afternoon work got postponed. They went to Hawaii." (I think that means the person in charge of the shoot when to Hawaii, or something.)

"To Ha-ha-ha-hawaii?! Really?!" Naka asks.

"That?s what it looks like," Umi replies.

Then Umi writes something on a piece of paper and holds it up. (its in kanji w/out any Japanese text, so I can't read it. I assume its something about having fun instead, or a vacation, or a break or playing hooky, but I'm just guessing.) Umi's pulling at his necktie, and looking quite cool and confident.

Naka and Umi yell at each other. Apparently Naka is a little horrified at the card, but Umi keeps holding it in front of her face. Curious onlookers look in at them from the hallway to see what all the noise is about.

Scene skips to an amusement park, where Naka and Umi decided to spend their free afternoon. They pass by a costume shop at the amusement park and Naka wants to go in, but Umi refuses. Naka holds up the card that Umi had written earlier (sort of like blackmailing him with whatever he wrote, so he would have to go and do it and couldn't go back on the words he wrote. Ehh, hope that makes sense?)

The shopkeepers are blushing and are astonished at how great Umi and Naka look in their outfits. Naka is dressed as a devil with horns. She's wearing a black dress with stripped stockings, a white wig with pig tails, and has two blacks horns coming out of her head. Umi has a short black wig and a kerchief on his head, and he's dressed like a pirate.

Naka wants to go to some attractions, but Umi is still hesitant. Naka holds up the blackmail card again, and Umi has to go. They enter, I guess, a haunted mansion thing. Naka is scared when a guy with an arrow coming out of his head appears and she grabs Umi around the neck with tears in her eyes. (aww, how cute!) Then Naka gets scared and drags Umi all the way to the exit of the haunted house.

Next they go on the tea cups (bickering as they spin the wheel), the love swan boat (where Naka tries to jump into the water, perhaps because its too lovely dovey for her?), then a roller coaster (both giving their frowning squints, with hands held high in the air), then they go on an enclosed Ferris wheel (Umi is afraid when Naka seems like she's about to rock the car). Then Naka rushes off to buy two balloons, and Umi finally has time to just stare at Naka (blushing slightly, because he's happy). [aww, again!]

While Umi is waiting for Naka to return with the balloons two guys (one is dressed as a cowboy, but the other guy is in regular clothes), put their hands on Umi's shoulders, and begin to give him pick-up lines. Umi loudly and bluntly says, "I'M A GUY." Both guys are shocked. They thought Umi was a girl.

It begins to rain and Umi takes out his sweater and puts in on top of Naka's head to protect her from the rain. He tells her to run because he's afraid they would be recognized from Junk.

Then Naka (with a slight blush in her cheek) says something that goes straight to Umi?s heart and makes him stop so suddenly she slams into him.

I can only translate a few words that she says, one of them was "Yusu" (which would be very bad to say to Umi, especially when this is sort of a date and Umi is jealous of Yusu anyway. And the other is "small size", which would not be good to say to Umi anyways, since he, to his misfortune, seems more like a girl than a guy.) I don't think Naka intended to say anything bad or hurtful, but it really stung Umi. I assume she was talking about the small size of the sweater that belong to Umi. I don't know why she mentioned Yusu, but that wasn't a smart move either.

Anyway, Umi turns around, very hurt, blushing, maybe in embarrassment and pain. Naka's eyes widen. Umi grabs his sweater from Naka, walks past her (she is frozen), and runs away, tearing his black wig off of his head. Then suddenly the rain gets worse, and I think lightening flashes. Then Umi remembers Naka is afraid of lightening, and he runs back. But he can't find her. He's angry with himself and embarrassed and hurt. He tries to reach her on the phone, but can't.

Then finally in desperation, he shouts out her name, "NAKA!!"

"UMI!!" he hears in reply. [wow, this is getting kind of melodramatic isn't it? Doesn't this scene remind anyone of the scene in Ouran High School Host Club between Haruhi and Hikaru?]

He finds Naka huddled behind a blush at the top of one of those outdoor stadium amphitheatre places, and his eyes widen when he sees she had been crying. She begins to yell at him, but when he yells back, she just huddles down and hides her face in her knees that are drawn up to her chest. Umi stops yelling and sits down next to her in the rain, his head in his hand. Naka is still teary, and asks Umi if he could hold her hand. And he does.

The moment they hold hands, the sky clears, and they are both shocked. (its sort of like the sky was mirroring what was happening with their relationship). Naka lets the balloons go and float away. Still holding hand she smiles up and Umi, and they both laugh and smile.

Scene switches, and some one is being faxed a letter from Boom. Most of the letter is in kanji so I can't read it. It does have a word written in English in there: "rita". (Is that someone?s name?) But I wonder if the letter is a job offer? Or if it is ominous, hmm?

Well, that's it. Next chapter comes out on September 20th.

A quick mini summary of Charming Junkie Chapter 67!!!

Umi is about to kiss a sleeping Naka's neck, as Yusu (the makeup artist/model guy) stumbles upon them outside in the field . . .
Yusu calls out "Umi-san" and interrupts the scene! Sorry for those who wished he hadn't, but I figured he probably would.

Anyways, Tsutsumi (photographer guy) comes back. And he gets asked by thhe guy trio if he is okay, and Tsutsumi smiles at them with a godly aura. All three are surprised and Naka is blushing. Anyways, the photo shoot with Tsutsumi is over, and Naka and Yusu are back to modeling with the agency called "Boom!". Naka works with Yusu on Boom! and with Umi on Junk.

A lot of Yusu and Naka interaction here. Yusu has a fever, Naka takes care of him. A person appears who seems to affect Yusu's confidence, and probably says mean things that hurt Yusu [when I translate, I find that out for sure]. This person looks like it might be Yusu's older brother, but I'm just guessing because they look alike. This "bully" guy smokes and has shaggy kind of hair.

It seems Yusu and Naka get invited to a party by Boom (but before that they meet Umi, who, blushingly, calls Naka out on how short her skirt is, while she defends it) and that's where they meet the bully guy who smokes. And when the guy begins to say mean things to Yusu, Naka stands up for him, and Yusu is surprised she would do it, and blushes. Yusu seems to realize he is falling in love with Naka...or something like that. And the chapter ends. Next chapter comes out September 5th.

....gets back together with his girlfriend (the one who left him). I guess she's a model too. I don't know what her name is though. Also, it seems like Naka fell asleep in a field during a photoshoot. Umi is leaning over to kiss her, thinking they are alone, but a suprised Yusu appears from over the hill, and he can only stare as Umi is just about to kiss Naka....and then the chapter ends before we find out if he does or not.

Okay, here's the summary/mini translation for the latest chapter, Ch. 65. But first....

Now, I'm just barely learning Japanese (actually, my first real class starts next week). So I'll try to give a summary based on the pictures and from the words I was able to pick out by learning the Japanese alphabet and trying to hunt those words down in a dictonary and reconstruct the sentences from those. So, try to be open-minded about my little summary here as even I'm not certain about its accuracy, but until it is picked up or until the licensed version catches up, this is all you have to go on. So, enjoy, since I spent hours just trying to make it this far~

Okay, so now that you know that, here is the chapter under the cut, since it is SO long...

Chapter 65: ?Big Popularity! Modern Confusion [Rapid?] Comedy?

So, picking up from last time....

Tsutsumi (the photographer guy) confronts Yusu (the makeup and hair artist who looks like a dark haired Umi).

Tsusumi says to Yusu (something like): ?Already once, even with personality, you try to make an attempt not to feel?? [I had a lot of trouble trying to translate this, and I really doubt its correct, but I sort of get what Tsutsumi is saying. He?s saying that Yusa was like him because they have similar personalities or something, and for some reason, Yusa is trying to repress his true feelings (i.e. his love for doing hair and makeup).

Yusu, looking surprised with widened eyes: ??.Eh?.??

Tsutsumi: ?For this contest, create it (meaning the hair and makeup) so it has feeling.?
Now, this doesn?t sound correct, since I know Tsutsumi likes sweets or something, this is how I?m going to interpret this next sentence, ?As a request, I want you to do hair and makeup for sweet bean paste credit.? [If for some strange reason, this happens to be correct, does this mean he plans to buy the makeup kid?s services and pay him with sweet bean paste? If that?s so, it?d be funny!]

Tsutsumi continues with a blank chibi expression on his face, ?The models, Umi and Naka, will have to be reliable and make an effort.? To which an shocked/angry/scared Naka replies in the back ground, ?YES?!? And Umi seems to be laughing behind her at the thought.

Tsutusmi says to Yusu, ?With your help, I?ll be able to start to reach my expectations in photography and those four (meaning Umi, Naka, the jr.high boy and girl I mentioned before, the girl?s name is Ichigo, and they are brother and sister. But I still don?t know the boy?s name?)

Yusu bluntly replies, ?I refuse under the circumstances.? Then he turns to leave [Remember, in the last chapter, after much debate with himself, he left his house and rushed to the school to help do Naka?s hair and makeup at the last minute, making her look more glamourous than usual.] ?In that case, for the model job, you at least need salmon roe to catch the trout.? [I have no idea if I got that right or not. Either Yusu is comparing the models to salmon roe and trout, or else he is saying that, for the makeup job to be desirable to him, Tsutsumi would have to pay him something better and more substantial than red bean paste. I?m so lost with these sentences?sorry!]

With a cold and smug smile Yusu says, ?Even hair and makeup wouldn?t help to fulfill your expectations or intensions.? [probably an indirect stab at Naka (and maybe Umi) saying that not even makeup or hair would make her good enough to win the contest Tsutsumi is trying to enter with the four models. It could also be a reference to his not being confident in the makeup and hair field, and I think its probably that since he seems reluctant to do it, and doesn?t realize how good he is at it.]

Yusu begins to walk away but freezes when Naka shouts, ?That?s a lie!?

A very angry Naka shouts to him, ?What kind of game are you playing with that lie you keep using?!!?

She says some other angry stuff which I decided not to translate, and then Yusu replies, his back still turned, and finally trying to walk away again, ?Purposely I do it, therfore I think I am satsified.?

Then Naka gets really angry and it jolts him still, until he finally turns around irritated with a dark look and says, ?HA?..?? [meaning, ?WHAT???] She looks surprised and like maybe she?s gone too far. But now Yusu is yelling at her with a chibi face, and she yells back, with Umi looking from afar and probably thinking about how childish they are or something.

A nearby random student (a girl) spots Yusu (I guess he must be famous enough as a makeup artist to be spotted) and she, excitedly wants to know if Yusu is planning on working with Junk [you know, the clothing company job]. A bunch of girls start gossiping and blushing, and Umi (who has been wearing a hoodie this whole time, probably to hide himself, since they are doing this photo shoot at school, and all the kids at school know he?s a guy). As Umi watches Naka and Yusu bicker, we get a flashback of Umi at a window, reading, and I believe Naka and Yusu are probably outside that window though they aren?t shown in this particular picture. But Umi gets anxious and worried about this flashback.

Meanwhile Tsutsumi comes to break up Naka and Yusu?s fight by hitting their foreheads against each other, for which they both turn their anger on him. Whatever they were saying, its seems like Yusu might have changed his mind about the makeup thing because he tells Naka something like, ?This satisfaction will probably come, Naka.? [probably meaning that he hopes she?ll win the contest].

Naka is surprised, and when he said her name, it rang a chord in her heart (I can tell that from the art), and she blushes excitedly and says, ?Yes! Thank you, Yusa!!? He only gives her a long stare over his shoulder. Naka with a chibi blush turns back to Tsutsumi with a thumbs up sign, and Yusu walks away. As Yusu walks away, he has two flashbacks of Naka, one flash back is from the previous chapter where she is excitedly about his abilities as a makeup artist and admires his makeup kit. The other flashback it seems like she has grabbed his shirt and is placing the side of her face against his (or may be kissing his cheek, its hard to tell, the flashback is blurry, and her face is on the other side of his). Yusu blushes, and then he remembers Naka calling his name, and also remembers the same words (meaning the same flashback) and Umi did earlier with the window.
Now, back to Umi and the gang?
Umi takes off his hoodie, to reveal that he has one of those bobble ties in his hair. Naka and Tsutsumi give him long chibi stares, and Tsutsumi points at his hair (or forehead). Naka?s angry too, but Umi is more angry with their questioning.

Back to normal, Umi tells Naka something (probably that its time for him to go or something), and he walks away, and she looks after him with a wondering expression. Umi as he?s walking along past the school windows, thinks back to the window flashback again, then pauses and looks out the window up at the sky. (it seems kind of sad to me?.)

Scene changes to the front of the school, probably the next day.
[The girl and boy model who I identified earlier as the ?jr. high students? showed up. They seem to be brother and sister, because they have the same last name. The girl?s name is Ichigo (which means ?strawberry?). From the last chapter, it seemed like the girl had a crush on Umi and the boy had a crush on Naka. Ichigo has blondish hair, and her brother?s is probably brown or a reddish brown, though since its black and white, I just have to guess from the shading].

Ichigo-chan says to Naka, ?Naka! Good morning! I give the uniform and (school) pamphlet a seemingly favorable review!!? Ichigo and her bro are wearing the same type of uniforms Naka and Umi wear, meaning that they?ve just joined and entered the same school as them. Ichigo is carrying a school brochure with her.

Naka turns, blushing excitedly, then she rushes over and glomps on to Ichigo, hugging her tightly. Ichigo is shocked and blushing and yells at her not to do that everytime she sees her. In the background Ichigo?s brother is blushing with his eyes closed and his arms wide open, hoping that he will be hugged next. In the next panel Naka starts to talk about the sibling?s enrollment into the school and the hope that they will all get along together. Ichigo, still blushing replies to her. And poor Ichigo?s brother has gone cold in the background, merely becoming a stick figure as he still waits with open arms for the hug that is never coming. (so funny!)

A loud voice interupts Naka and Ichigo with ?OI!? It?s a very irritated Umi who continues to say, ?Idiot Ichigo!? All three shoot him shocked and angry chibi looks and all three gang up on Umi. Umi looks like he has a head ache and, when talking to the two kids, it seems like maybe he guesses why they decided to come to the same school as Umi and Naka (I.e. to become closer to Umi and Naka), because both bro and sis are surprised by what he says.

Naka looks at Umi a bit worried, and Ichigo asks her about it, but Naka denies it, blushing and shaking, while an arrow stabs Umi or something.

It must be a new school year because there is a new class list assignment. (Hmmm?I wonder if they?re in highschool now or if this is the same school that Naka and Umi have been going to? I?m just wondering why they are in the same grade as Ichigo and her bro, because I assummed they were younger?but I guess not?oh well, who knows?)

Naka, Umi and Ichigo are in class 1A, while Ichigo?s bro is in class 1D. Naka glomps onto Ichigo again, surprising her, poor Ichigo?s brother is in tears crouching on the floor because he?s in a different class than everyone. Umi irritated, spots some boys blushing and staring at Naka. One of the boys says, ?Is that Naka?! The model?!? Umi glares cooly at this.

Umi, ?Oi, Naka.? He grabs onto Naka, and pulls her close, and turns her head for a kiss. A blushing chibi Naka angrily yeels at him, and he yells back, but his yell is directed towards the two boys, who end up turning away, no longer interested in Naka.

Scene switches to where Umi walks across a stage in front of the student body, he makes a quick and angry speech, and walks away. The audience is blusing, shocked, (and maybe angry?). But Umi puts his hand up to his head, a slight flush on his cheeks as something worries him.

Scene chagne again. Umi is preparing to go to modeling work and he runs into Tsutusmi, and then tries to run away from Tsutsumi. As they are walking along the hall together, they pause beside an open door. Inside the room, a photo shoot is going on with Naka and another boy (probably Yusu, though his face is unclear?.so I guess that means Yusu is also a model who is trying to decide on either on a modeling or makeup career?.).

Umi?s face darkens (kind of sad), and he says, ?Tsutsumi, a male model and a female model working together seem different.? (meaning, they have a different atmopshere than when it?s a girl and girl team doing a photo shoot, like how he and Naka have to portray for Junk. He can?t act like a boy in the pictures with Naka in order to hide his identity and keep doing his job as a female model).

Tsutusmi?s eyes widen at Umi?s confession (I think it?s a confession, because he?s finally acknowledging to himself how he really wants to model). But Umi realizes what he says and clamps his mouth shocked, and attempts to run away covering it up with anger. Whatever Tsutsumi says next haunts Umi, as his eyes widen and face grown darker and sadder.

Scene changes again and the kids are picking out their Physical Education (PE) uniforms from a store. Umi sighs and Naka comes up to him, with a scary (but earnest) look on her face, asking him something like what?s wrong. To which he of course can?t tell her, so blushing, he sends her flying off hrough the sky. Ichigo and her bro are there as well, and it seems Ichigo?s bro knows what?s bothering Umi.

The bro says to Umi something like, ?A male model who isn?t responsible and does an ?anything job? is the worst.? [I have no idea what he?s trying to get at] bit it stuns Umi and then makes him angry. Even after changing into their PE uniforms, they are still bickering.

Umi is by himself now and he seems to be uncomfortable because he?s pulling at his shirt. [maybe being a female model, is making him question how unmanly he looks or something?.? This could also be tied with his fear of losing Naka to someone who looks more handsome and more like a guy]

Umi sees some guys snickering at him, and he gets even more embarrased and uncomfortable. He glances over at the guys, and thinks back earlier when he grabbed onto Naka in front of those boys (basically as a way go say ?hands off, she?s mine?). He turns and begins to walk away, and that?s when he over hears one of the boys say, ?That class officer?.he really does resemble a woman.? Umi stops, and we only see the back of his head in shadows.

Scene switches to the other side of the fence where the girls are holding their PE class. Ichigo calmly calls out to Naka and points out towards the boy?s side where a big group of stick figures have gathered around one area and started cheering. Umi and one of the other guys are having a fist fight. Umi punches the other guy in the jaw, but ultimately, Umi is losing. The other guy has Umi pinned against the ground and Umi closes his eyes for the next blow to come at it. But it doesn?t come.

Naka had jumped between the two boys and she took the blow on her shoulder right below her neck. She had protected Umi. His eyes widen, horrified as he catched a glimpse of her hair, and realizes who saved him and who had received the blow meant for him. The other boys are shocked and horrified that Naka got hurt. Umi clutches Naka and picks her up running, and carrying her to the nurse?s office. When they get there he sits her down on the bed, and he yells at her for getting in between them and getting hurt. But she yells back at him, angry, and for once, he doesn?t snap back, but looks sad. He wants to see how badly hurt she is, but she says she?s all right.

He pulls down her collar a little to see small bruise on her shoulder. Umi leans over and puts his head down on that shoulder. (poor guy is really torn up?how sad!)

Umi thinks about Yusu acting as a male model (something Umi can?t do) and Naka, her voice quivering, asks Umi something I can?t seem to translate. Instead of answering, Umi asks instead, ?Tsutsumi, he . . . when he does photographs is there another c-c-connection?? [I think Umi already knows there is a connection between Naka and Tsutsumi when he takes her photos because he?s able to take good photos of Naka. But here, I think Umi is worried about another ?connection? to Naka besides Tsutsumi, namely Yusu. I think what Umi is trying to figure out is if Naka feels a connection or tie to Yusu when they model together [since they are modeling as girl and boy, rather than the girl/girl modeling Naka does with Umi]. But I could have interpretted this sentence wrong too?. Oh well, at least you get the jist.

End of chapter, with Umi still leaning on Naka, waiting for her answer.
Next chapter will be out July 5th. (but I'll get it even later than that)...

Chapter 64 Summary/Mini Translations

Okay, first off, I don't know Japanese, but I'll start taking classes in 3 weeks, so I've been practising with the alphabet, and trying to translate things. I don't know how correct I am, but I believe the title for Ch. 64 is something like: "Model Combined Double Love Comedy".

For Chapter 64, I did some mini translations/summary of events, though I don't know how accurate I am. And please don't post my summary anywhere else~

Sorry I'm not able to go into more detail about what the characters are actually saying, but that's currently beyond my range of the language at this point. Chapter 64 from what I interpret from the pics (though since I don't know people's names this far into the series, I'll just have to describe who is doing what):

The chapter starts out with Ikue Tsutsumi speaking, (and I actually translated this) "You're late Naka. I got tired of waiting for you." Naka interjects, "I am sorry! [Omatase shimashita]." Sorry I wasn't able to translate the last part, but I couldn't find the exact words. But bascially, she is pointing to these two kids (probably a year or 2 younger than her, a boy with brownish hair, and a girl with blonde), and is telling Tsutsumi that she is late because of them.

Umi and Naka are both wearing school uniforms, while the younger boy and girl are wearing regular clothes (are Naka and Umi in high school? If so, these would probably be jr. high students who don't have to wear uniforms). Umi says something to the kids as Naka glares at them, and the kids deny whatever it is (probably the reason why they are late). Naka (with a scary look and sweat drops on her face whispers something to Umi, who also has sweat drops. Tsutsumi guesses correctly, and surprises the jr. high girl, who immediately begins denying something again. Then she and Naka begin to yell and whisper to each other. [this is probably all about why they were late and the events in the chapter 63]

A bunch of other kids are in the classroom, probably members of the student council, and all the kids volunteer for something after Tsutsumi asks them (much to the shock of Umi). [To me, it seems like maybe he's asking for extras for some kind of shoot he'll be doing at the school, but I haven't read the chapters before this, so I don't know where its going].

Anyways, the scene switches to a place called "Studio Plus" where a (probably 15 year old, same as Naka and Umi) dark haired boy (his name is Yusu-san) is holding a box filled with cosmetics. (He's probably training to become a makeup artist). Naka walks in the door and he teases her. She spots his cosmetics box and is amazed by it (blushing, enraptured by all the pretty makeup). She asks him something like "Eh?! Are you S?nen?!" [S?nen means "accident or disaster", but I wonder if it means something else here?], and he replies "Yes, yes" but he closes the box and looks down at it sadly, as though disilluisoned. And then he says something like "Such a thing has only been for play." (meaning that he saw doing makeup art as only a game, and not something professional).

Naka says to him, the panel focusing on her mouth and thoughts, "Yusu-san". Then she tells him something which strikes a chord in his heart (because he gives her a wide, shocked look). Then it switches to Chibi faces and he says "Ha?" (asking for clarification), as she hands him a business card. She gets nervous and hurriedly/randomly says some things, then freaks out and runs away until she's a tiny blip in thei distance. And Yusu-san sits in his chair in front of the mirrror, speechless. Then he looks down at the business card which says "Royal Management".

The scene switches to Tsutsumi who is staring at a poster on the wall, surprised, but then later he sits in front of it, deep in thought, and in his mind comes the thought of the retreating back (of his girlfriend who left him, probably). Scene switches again to a classroom where a bunch of people are yelling and Umi and Naka are there in school uniforms, determined to do whatever they're plannning on doing. Naka hears one of the students reading off of a poster (probably the one from before), and Naka stops to listen. Umi hits her on the head and tells her something probably either to not be dazed or to hurry up. And Naka's face is a little flushed as she begins to worry (about Yusu?). And then the scene switches to Yusu-san, who is lying on his bed at his house, staring across the room at something sticking out of his wastebasket (he probably threw his make up kit away). He thinks back to what Naka told him earlier (whatever it was that really stunned him). And Yusu thinks about Naka, ".....Strange girl (female)....."

Scene switches back to Naka and Umi, who look like they are modeling for the perfect picture. The girls in the class are all blushing and angry at this. Tsutusmi says something to Umi and Naka which shock them and make them blush, and deny something. (Maybe it was because they looked like a couple in the pic?? Since Umi is dressed as a boy here.) Anyways, Tsutsumi gets really close to Naka's face (surprising her, and he asks her something). Umi grabs Naka away and pulls her up (it looks like he is going to kiss her neck or cheek or something, but he actually doesn't). [the whole class has shocked faces]. Tsutsumi asks something else (very bored like), and a ticked off Umi, and embarrassed/angry Naka reply. For some reason, the little jr. high-type boy from before is also ticked off. Umi and Naka walk away up the stairs and all the girls squeal because they are so graceful (butterfly images in the background), as Umi and Naka calmly glance back. The jr. high boy is still pissed off and Tstusumi is explaining something to him on a piece of paper.

Naka, nervous, with her "criminal frown" on her face, glances at Umi, and then away, and he notices this. Then he yells at her to explain, and she seems shocked (and maybe terrified, because she's probably hiding something---like maybe something about Yusu?), and then their conversation is interrupted by the appereance of Yusu who has brought his makeup box. Anyway, after Yusu shows up, Umi yells, chibi angry at Naka, but she is able to explain in a way that stops Umi's anger. Then it seems like Tsutusmi hires (?) Yusu for the job with a handshake (?). Then Yusu gets out his cosmetics and begins to work his magic on Naka's face, which suddenly becomes so very elegant and beautiful that even Tsutsumi is surprised and widens his eyes. Umi is just beet red with blushing, his eyes wide open. Naka probably asks him (angrily) why he is looking at her like that, and he is too embarrased to reply and so he hits her and sends her flying until she is a little dot on the page. The two jr. high kids are also shocked and blushing at Naka's transformation. Then Yusu leaves, and it seems Tsutsumi is finally ready to take his photos of his models. And thus this chapter ends.

Sorry for any inaccuracies! I wish a group would pick it up and translate the later chapters.

The Arc of Gakuen Alice~
1. "Mikan Being Accepted as a Student arc"~~~which includes the short "intro arc" and the "into the Northern Woods arc" where she finally discovers her Alice and is accepted as a student (this arc covers Vol 1, ch 1-5)
2. "Getting Use to The School arc"~~~This might not be considered as complete arc, but rather a series of episodes, but it deals with how Mikan learns about the school and its occupants. It includes not full arcs, but short chapters introducing Mikan's No-Star Ranking(Ch.6), Hotaru's decision to finally protect Mikan (from Jinno-sensei's lightening, Ch 7), meeting Tsubasa-sempai (Ch. 8 ) , dodgeball (Ch. 9) , and Narumi's decision to help and protect Mikan (after she finds out he burned her letters to her grandpa and she tries to run away, Ch.10). And that covers Vol.2. And also, the chapter on the planning for the school festival from Vol 3, ch. 11.
3. "Central Town" chapter ch. 12 (Yo-chan is first introduced here.)
4. "The Natsume Kidnapped by Reo arc" Chapters 13-16, and that finishes Vol.3 A MAJOR ARC
5. "The School Festival Arc" which includes many many scenes: the actual preparation, RPG Special Ability game booth, Mikan forced to follow Natsume and Ruka around the festival, the Haunted House, Hotaru meets big bro, Ruka's Sleeping Beauty vs. Snow White play, and the end of the Festival dance. 12. "New Year's Eve arc" includes Mikan's b-day, the "sleeping/stuck together part" and the trip to jr.high underground and saving Aoi, and also includes Ruka's flashback of his and Natsume's past Ch. 53-70 THE MOST MAJOR ARC SO FAR
13. "Natsume and Ruka's decision to offically protect Mikan" includes flashback of why Natsume was trying to escape from school the day Mikan arrived. Ch. 71
14. "Alice stone chapter" the kids make their stones and give them away Ch. 72
15. "Valentine's day chapter" Ch. 73
16. "School Band arc" Ch. 74-75, including graduation day for 6th graders. Mikan moves from 5th to 6th grade.
17. "Saying goodbye to a classmate" the weather-kid in elementary class grows out of his power and must now go home Ch. 76
18. "The Luna Arc" the mysterious new (evil) transfer student, Luna comes to make trouble. [Ch. 77 to Ch 80+] This is the current arc, so it hasn't ended yet. Not too much has happened yet, but things don't look good for Mikan, Luna is really really scary. (This arc also includes the school's sports festival, though it just got started in Ch. 80 but hasn't finished. MOST RECENT MAJOR ARC.

10:52AM - "The Copy Alice" Ch. 1 (Gakuen Alice FanFiction)

              Chapter One 
     Across the schoolyard, under the dark shades of a gnarly willow tree that teetered on the edge of the Northern Woods, a young boy stood watching, with narrowed eyes. A sudden movement from the entrance doors of the school building caught his attention, but he reverted his his eyes back to the school building when he realized it was only the boy with the Fire Alice and his blonde friend with the white bunny resting on his shoulder.  
     As interesting as Natsume Hyuuga was to the success or failure of his mission, the boy was much, much more interested . . . in a single girl with ribboned pigtails. 
     The boy’s green olive colored eyes flickered towards the windows across the school yard wondering through which one would he spy the girl? 
     A secondary movement had caught his attention, and he switched his gaze back to the entrance hall. Class had let out for the elementary students and a flood of students raced, flew, twirled, or hopped out for free time on the playground. One had even burrowed out from the ground in her excitement. 
     The boy frowned and stepped part way out of the shadows, pulling a strand of dark red hair out from his eyes. He stared down at his elementary uniform and dusted off the small willow leaves that had fallen on him. 
     The boy looked up again, and suddenly smiled, his green eyes flashing with a gleam. A girl with brown hair had just stepped out from the school building, and was running desperately after a girl with short black hair who was speeding away in a flying duck. A little girl with glasses—or was that a little boy?—and two other girls, one with pink hair, the other with long black hair, followed the very first girl, trying to console her. 
     The girl kneeled down, crying melodramatically, her pigtails touching the ground. 
     “HOTA~RU~! Wait!” he could hear her call from across the schoolyard. 
      The boy smiled again, and ran his hand through his red hair, filled with confidence. This was going to be easy. This girl was an idiot. 
      Leaving the sanctity of the shadowy forest, he began to pick his way across the school yard towards the little group. 
     His mission was as good as accomplished. And soon this little girl, whose presence threatened so much, the existence of all Alices, would no longer be a problem. Would no longer be anything but a memory.
     This girl, this—
     “Mikan Sakura?”
     The group glanced at him surprised. He ignored them and smiled down at the little girl. She looked up at him with teary eyes, and quickly rubbed them away and her sleeves.
     “That is your name, right?” the boy persisted, lending a hand to help her to her feet.
     She took smiled hesitantly, and nodded, taking his hand.
     The moment their fingers touched, a small look of shock, confusion, and uncertainty passed through her big brown eyes, though the next moment it was as if she had instantly forgotten it.
     He smiled wider. He was one step closer to securing his goal. The moment they had touched, he had activated his own Alice and the girl had felt a small electric shock in her hand, though it also caused her to instantly forget it.
     He had done it. He had captured it.
     “How do you know my name?” she asked surprised.
     “Well,” he said, dropping her hand. “You are, after all, the partner of the famous Fire Alice boy. So, in a way you’re famous too.”
     The girl’s brown eyes became glazed and starry.
     “I’m famous too?” she said to herself, clasping her hands to her chest in raptures.
     “Um~Mikan~” the glasses girl—no it was a boy after, because of the school uniform, said desperately trying to get her attention.
     “Baka!” said a voice behind them, and something shot out in the shape of a hoof and hit Mikan in the back of the head.
     The boy swung around and moved back. The purple-eyed girl sat on the duck and stared nonchalantly at Mikan.
     “There’s no point in being famous if its because of someone else,” the girl said to Mikan.
     Mikan instantly went from sad to happy again.
     “HO~TA~RU! You came back!”
     “Baka!” she said, hitting Mikan again and flying away once more.
     Meanwhile, the boy glanced down at his hand. At the one he had given to Mikan. He curled it into a clenched fist. The first step in his plan was accomplished. It really had been this easy after all. He had done it. He had captured it.
     “What’s your name?” glasses-boy said. “I’m the Class President, but please just call me Iincho. I think the teachers and everyone were expecting you tomorrow and—”
     “Joshua—Joshua Hachibara. Just call me Josh.”
“Wow! A new student! This is so exciting!” said the pink haired girl to the long black haired one.
"'Jos~hu~uh'?  What a cool name?  Do you think he is a foreigner?" the other one replied back. "How cool!"
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Jos~hu-kun,” Mikan said, clasping his hand again and smiling.
His olive-green eyes opened wide, slightly surprised.
But he recovered quickly, and they narrowed again.
“No, I must say, the pleasure is all mine.”
Because I did it. I captured it. Using my Copy Alice, I now have another set of Alice abilities to add to my collection. And in order to complete the mission assigned to me and destroy Mikan Sakura, I need to use her own Alice against her . . . the Nullification Alice.
